Field Tip

Always Photograph the Data Plate Before You Start

Before you pull a single panel, take a photo of the data plate. Model number, serial number, manufacture date, refrigerant type -- all of it captured in one shot. PrecisionOps can run OCR on that image and pull the details into the equipment record automatically, so you don't have to squint at faded stickers or type anything by hand.

This matters more than most techs realize. If you need to order a part, you already have the exact model. If a warranty question comes up six months later, the info is sitting in the job history. And if the plate gets damaged during the repair -- which happens -- you've still got the original data on file.

Make it the very first thing you do on every call. It takes five seconds and saves you from chasing down information later when you're back at the shop or on the phone with a distributor.
